Andy George joins the HBF from Barratt Redrow, where he held the position of head of talent management.
He replaces Jenny Herdman, who retired from her role as director of the home building skills partnership in March this year. His appointment follows the Home Building Skills Partnership’s transition from operating as a separate brand to being known as HBF’s Industry Attraction & Skills team.
George has worked in the house-building industry for nearly 20 years. He is a member of the Home Building Skills Partnership expert panel, chair of the HBF Skills & Supply Chain Engagement group, and previously chair of the HBF Career Attract Group.
HBF chief executive Neil Jefferson said: “The delivery of much-needed housing depends on a skilled workforce and, with government’s ambitious targets, this is a pivotal time for the homebuilding industry to tackle the skills crisis. Andy’s breadth of experience securing diverse pipelines of talent will be crucial as we work to address the skills gap in the sector.”
Andy George said: “I am delighted to be joining HBF at this exciting time for the industry and look forward to collaborating with its members as part of HBF’s Industry Attraction & Skills team.”
