Logan lands Northwood health centre

The old Northwood & Pinner Cottage Hospital, built in 1920 but closed since 2008, is beign refurbished and extended to create a modern 1,500 sqm health centre.

Logan Construction (South East) begam site clearance and demolition work earlier this year and has now marked the start of construction works with a ground breaking ceremony this week.

NHS Property Services (NHSPS)appointed the contractor through the ProCure23 framework.

Gardiner & Theobald is project manager, Arcadis is the architect and Quantem the quantity surveyor.

The new health centre will offer a range of services including district nursing, ambulatory wound care, health visiting, school nursing, a diabetes clinic, bladder and bowel care, a GP surgery, diabetic eye screening, mental health services and talking therapies.

The facility will have air-source heat pumps, LED lighting and a thermal efficient building fabric to improve its energy performance, as well as water-efficient flow restrictors.   

Northwood & Pinner Health Centre is set to open in the summer of 2026.
